I’m so excited to introduce a new series to you all! For the next several cycles, I’m going to be making all 10 of our family dinners using only 5 ingredients.
So, for my grocery shopping cycles (every 10 days), I will only be buying 5 ingredients to make dinners!
I will be buying other foods for breakfast, lunch and snacks, but I will be sticking to our 5 ingredients to make supper.
My goal is to simplify dinner time and meal planning even more.
Sometimes I think that we overthink what dinner has to look like. It’s easy to spend a lot of time or rack up a large grocery bill by following a different recipe every night of the week.
I’m going to take it back to basics. Spend very little money, but still make nutritious meals for my family every night!
The first edition of this series my husband is wrapping up doing a few months of keto, so what better thing to do than a keto edition!
Only 5 Ingredients, 10 Keto Dinners
The only ingredients we are using for dinner for the next 10 days are:
- Chicken
- Cheese
- Avocado
- Cauliflower
- Eggs
Here is the plan for this cycle:
Day 1: Mexican Omelettes
Day 2: Naked Grilled Chicken Sandwiches with Avocado
Day 3: Chicken and Cauliflower Rice Burrito Bowl
Day 4: Mexican Stuffed Avocados with Steamed Cauliflower
Day 5: Grilled Chicken Power Bowl
Day 6: Chicken Fried Cauliflower Rice
Day 7: Fried Egg and Avocado Power Bowl
Day 8: Cauliflower Crust Chicken Pizza
Day 9: Cheesy Baked Cauliflower and Baked Chicken
Day 10: Cheese Omelettes with Avocado

For this plan, I’m counting on the pantry staples that I already have in my kitchen. For example, I will use olive oil, but won’t include it on my ingredient list.
Things that are considered pantry staples for me are:
- Spices and Seasonings
- Oils
- Butter
By cooking super simply, and only using a few wholesome ingredients we are spending very little on dinner!
All of the ingredients for these 10 days of dinners only cost $36.42. That averages out to only $3.64 per meal or $0.91 per person per meal!
- Chicken: $10.39
- Cauliflower: $9.58
- Cheese: $5.34
- Eggs: $7.28
- Avocado: $3.83
I chose to buy both cauliflower rice and cauliflower, but you could definitely only buy cauliflower and make your own rice in the food processor.
I fed my family of 4 a keto friendly dinner for 10 days for only $36.42!
