Every week I look through the Kroger Weekly Ad and digital coupons before I even think about what we’re having for dinner. This week’s deals were too good to pass up — especially on meat, produce, and dairy — so I planned our 7-day meal plan around them.
I don’t buy everything just because it’s on sale. I buy what we actually use, and this week I was able to stock up on staples we’ll use in multiple meals — all while staying well under budget.
Even though I build my meal plan around Kroger’s best deals each week, I still buy other items to round out our meals and snacks. Not everything we eat is on sale — and that’s okay. I’ll grab things like fruit, milk, bread, or lunchbox snacks even if they’re regular price, because they’re part of what keeps our meals balanced and realistic. The key is that my main ingredients — the meats, produce, and pantry staples that form the base of our meals — are always planned around the best weekly deals. That’s what helps keep our grocery total low while still giving us the flexibility to eat well all week.

This is my actual Kroger receipt from this week’s pickup order:
Total before coupons and sales: $124.86
Total after digital coupons and store sales: $77.77
Total saved: $47.09
Almost all of that came from digital coupons and Weekly Digital Deals I clipped right in the app — no paper coupons, no rebate apps, and no extra hassle.
What I Bought on Sale with Kroger Sales 11/5/2025
Here’s a look at what came home with me this week and how it fits into our meals:
- Land O’ Lakes Butter: Weekly Digital Deal for $2.99
- Kroger Cheese: On sale for $3/5
- Kroger Frozen Potatoes (Diced, Tater Tots, Etc): $1.99
- Russet Potatoes: $3.99
- 80% Ground Beef: $4.99/lb
- Claussen Pickles: $2.99
- Oscar Mayer Lunch Meat: $2.99
Everything I bought will be used in meals — nothing extra to sit in the pantry.
How I Planned the Kroger Haul
I started by clipping all of the digital coupons that made sense for us — especially the Weekly Digital Deals that can be used up to five times in a single transaction. Then I looked through the sale flyer and matched the best prices to meals we already enjoy.
From there, I made my list in the Kroger app right in my cart. It automatically shows me how each coupon is being applied and even shows if there is a coupon for an item that I missed!
When it was time to place my order, I selected pickup (which saved me an extra $10 off $75 this week!) and double-checked that every coupon was clipped before submitting.
Real-Life Kroger Savings That Add Up
Every week, these little changes make a big difference in our grocery budget. This one trip saved me more than $45, and those savings add up fast when you repeat the process week after week.
It’s not about extreme couponing — it’s about paying attention to what’s on sale and buying the things your family already eats.
If you want to try this approach, start by checking Kroger’s digital deals on Wednesdays when the new ad drops. Clip what fits your family, make your list in the app, and plan your meals around the best sales. It’s simple, repeatable, and it works.
