Baby’s come with a lot of stuff. When I say come with, I mean you spend a whole lot of money on a lot of stuff for a very short season in their lives.
Everything they sleep in, poop in, and eat in is expensive. Baby car seats, baby carriers, baby bassinets, baby cribs, baby bottles, baby swings, baby activity centers. You name it, there is a baby product for it!
That being said, there are a ton of products out there marketing towards toddlers too!
As a mama of 2 littles, I have found that babies and toddlers need much less than the marketing world wants you to believe.
In my opinion, you really don’t need the wipe warmer, the hands-free breast pump, and the vibrating bassinet. If you want to buy those things, go for it! It is your money, and it is your baby!
I just lean more towards the minimal side when it comes to gear, but I am nowhere near minimalist. Just a happy medium!
The same thing happens with toddler toys and gear!
I get online and have 1000000 things marketing towards me as a mama of a growing toddler.
A toy lawnmower that is a bubble machine? She would love that!
An adorable overall jumper? She would look SO cute in that!
A toy kitchen that has real water coming out of the sink? How much fun is that!
You name it, it is being sold and heavily marketed to you!
There are a few toddler products that are really worth it to me.
HALO Big Kids Sleep Sack
I am ALL about the HALO sleep sack swaddles. They are wonderful, and we have been loyal customers ever since. As our toddler has gotten bigger, she sleeps with blankets, but she still wears her sleep sack.
Blankets are easy to get tangled up in for a little kid, but this sleep sack keeps her warm and cozy all night long even if she loses her blankets while tossing and turning.
It’s also been a great sleep cue for her. She knows as soon as the sleep sack goes on, that it’s time to sleep. We LOVE these and use them with both of our girls!
NUK Straw Sippy Cups
We have two of these cups and they have lasted SO well. They are consistently dropped on the ground and they don’t spill! They also don’t break. Rosy went through a stage where she would bite and pull on the straw and you can’t even tell.
I love these cups! They are cheap and have really stood the test of time.
Chicco NextFit Zip Carseat
We have this carseat for both of our girls. They are both currently still rear facing (Rosy is 2 and Lucy is 1) and they’re super comfortable in these!
They clean up wonderfully. Smashed graham crackers and cheerios clean right off, and you can even zip off the cover and throw it into the washing machine.
It is a dream for messy toddlers!
We have been SO pleased with all of our Chicco products, but these seats have especially been SO great.
Baby Jogger Double Stroller
We walk every single day twice a day. This stroller is WONDERFUL. Seriously. I can’t rave about it enough.
It has been used everyday for about 5 miles a day for a year. It still walks as well as it did the day I got it out of the box. The girls are super comfortable in it. It’s super smooth for them, and the sun shades are incredible.
If you have a toddler and a newborn, you can get a bassinet attachment, which is what we had for a while.
That’s it. Really.
Toddlers don’t need very much! They play with whatever is around and eat all of the time because they’re growing like crazy!
These are our favorite products. What are some toddler products you can’t live without?
