Do you need some inspiration on what food to make your family for Christmas? Then this article is just what you need!
What do you do on Christmas day? Do you run around trying to make it to every family get-together? Do you travel? Do you stay at home?
We are a stay-at-home crew for Christmas day and I couldn’t love it more. After a morning of opening presents and watching out kiddos check out their new toys we take it easy and don’t get out of our PJ’s if we don’t wanna.
This is what we always did when I was growing up too, and it’s one of my fondest memories! Not letting the hustle and bustle bring that day down is just one of my favorite things.
So, keeping with my childhood tradition, i like to keep things reallllllllly simple on Christmas day food-wise.
I don’t want to be preparing and cleaning from making different meals all day. So, here is what I’m planning to feed my family of 5 this year on Christmas day!
Our Super Simple Christmas Day Family Menu
Breakfast:
Something that my 4 year old daughter and I love to do together is watch cooking videos on YouTube and then recreate what we see!
I knew as soon as I saw this one that she would want to make them Christmas morning and she does!
We are making Christmas tree cinnamon rolls!
All you do is take a can of the great value brand cinnamon rolls from Wal-Mart (you need those because they unroll). Then you unroll each individual cinnamon roll and rearrange it on your pan so that it looks like a little Christmas tree!
Then a little bit of green food coloring in the frosting makes them look like little trees! Top with some Christmas sprinkles and you have an adorable treat!
So, Christmas morning we’ll be having Christmas tree cinnamon rolls with eggs and bacon!
Lunch:
Rotel Cheese Dip with Chips, Fruit and Granola
We love rotel and I hardly ever make it so I thought it would be a fun (and really easy) treat for us to have! It’s also something super easy to set out in the crockpot and not worry about for the rest of the day.
I’m also making a sheet pan on my homemade granola for us to munch on through the day!
Dinner:
This year my parents are coming over the night of Christmas and they’re bringing a spiral cut ham! I’m going to make green beans, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter pie and apple crisp.
These are all things that I can throw together really quickly and they’re also some of our family favorites!
Just typing about all of the food that we’re going to make it making me hungry! I can’t wait!
What are your Christmas meal traditions? Let me know!
