I absolutely could not wait until Rosy turned 6 months old for one reason. She could go in the jogging stroller! Walking a few miles around our neighborhood are a big part of our day, and getting into a jogging stroller made that a lot easier!
When shopping for a jogging stroller, I was amazed at all of the options and the variety of prices. There were some that were close to $1,000, and that was something that I couldn’t see being anywhere near worth it for our family.
We wanted something that could be used for jogging, but would mostly be used as a more all-terrain stroller. Something that would go over grass or gravel easily, had a snack tray, and was relatively inexpensive. The answer to all of this: the Baby Trend Expedition stroller.
I snagged ours on Amazon when I had a gift card so since it’s already very economical, it felt like quite the steal!
I’ve been using it daily now for almost a year and there are some things that I love, and some things that I’m not so crazy about.
Things I love about the Baby Trend Expedition Jogging Stroller
1. Super comfy ride for baby.
Rosy is always kicked back while riding in this stroller! She never seems to get tired of sitting in it or obviously uncomfortable.
2. Easy to clean.
Our little girl loves to eat snacks while on walks, and because of that, crackers and cheerios seem to get all. over. the. place! The fabric on the stroller is very easy to wipe down and there isn’t a lot of extra padding and fabric to fuss with.
3. The snack tray!
Having a snack tray lets us take much more successful long walks than we would ever have without it! There are two cup holders and plenty of space for crackers or cereal in between. It’s also smooth plastic that is super easy to wipe clean.
4. Great customer service.
We had one issue when we received the stroller, but after one email to Baby Trend customer service it was resolved. Such great service is a huge plus for me when it comes to baby gear!
5. It comes in a great selection of colors.
Almost all of the other jogging strollers I looked at came in one option: black. To my delight, however, the Baby Trend Expedition stroller came in loads of colors! We picked the purple and it fits our baby girl perfectly!
Things that I don’t really love about the Baby Trend Expedition Jogging Stroller
1. The wobble in the front wheel when steering is unlocked.
I’m not the only one with this issue, because the internet is flooded with forums about it. We have tried tightening the front wheel to different levels, but the front wheel still wobbles! This is really frustrating when you just want to walk in a neighborhood with lots of turns. When the wheel is in the locked position, there isn’t a wobble.
I talked to customer service about this, and while they were very nice, this seemed to just be a design flaw in the stroller that they couldn’t do anything about.
So, if you’re planning on using this stroller where you have to do a lot of turning, this may be a flaw to consider.
2. It’s not great to actually jog with.
The steering issue and the heaviness of the stroller combined make this stroller quite cumbersome to actually jog with. This isn’t an issue for me, because we mainly just walk together.
It’s super heavy and doesn’t push easy enough to run with. It’s great when walking, but too much when you’re trying to run.
3. The sun shade could be better.
Generally, there is plenty of shade for Rosy, but sometimes I wish there was about 6 more inches of coverage. It is adjustable and can be pulled all the way down to the snack tray, but then you lose the coverage at the top.
It’s pretty good, but could be a little better!
Overall, I recommend the Baby Trend Expedition Jogging Stroller.
If you’re on a budget (aren’t we all??) and you want a basic jogging stroller that is great for long walks, then this stroller is for you!
