For this 10 day cycle (read about how I grocery shop on 10 day cycles here!), I ran into a couple of issues during my grocery pickup at Kroger.
They were out of a few food items I ordered and didn’t get me any substitutions.
Normally, I’m pretty chill about all of that, I understand sometimes all of the black beans, or bananas, or avocados or whatever are just out of stock. But it just so happened this time that they were out of stock of the chicken, bacon, brussel sprouts and broccoli I ordered.
There weren’t any substitutions.
The first 3 meals on my meal plan this week required at least one of those ingredients! Ahh!
I’m going to run out tonight and pick up those 4 ingredients, but we had to do a little bit of moving around of recipes to make things work. That’s OK!
The wonderful thing about meal planning is that it makes me MORE flexible!
I may not have been able to make the first 3 meals on my plan, but I have all of the ingredients for 7 other meals ready to go!
So, you’re seeing the second version of my meal plan for this week because we had to make a couple of changes. I’m just reminded of what we have decided one of our family motto’s are for our girls.
Goodman’s are flexible.
We are! We’re practicing that skill right now. We’re flexible with what we make and we’re prepared to go with the flow.
Anyways, enough about my grocery pickup saga.
Just like the last few weeks, my husband is eating a ketogenic diet and me and the girls are not. The main entrees at dinner are always keto friendly and then there may be a side or two that are just for me and the kids.
The total for all of our meals and snacks for the next 10 days is $134.44.
