I love a good smoothie. When I don’t feel like eating my greens, what better way to incorporate them into your day than a big refreshing smoothie?
Clay also told me a few weeks ago after listening to a podcast, that smoothies make it easier for your body to absorb the nutrients in the foods since it’s already ground up. Double win!
There are a few recipes that I make over and over again and our whole family loves!
I’m a little bit sensitive to bananas… I had an allergic reaction when I was in high school and have basically steered clear since then. Most recipes that I’ve found for smoothies include bananas, because they are really great at making a smoothie creamy! However, I make all of mine without bananas, so that’s what kind of recipes you’ll find below.
You really can’t go wrong. Grab some of your favorite ingredients and throw them into your blender. You won’t know if you like it until you try it!
If you need a little bit more guidance on where to get started, here are my favorite smoothie recipes that I make daily!!
Mango Blueberry Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup frozen mango
- 1/4 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 tablespoon organic peanut butter
- 1 cup spinach
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or unsweetened plain kefir)
SO good. Probably my favorite smoothie that I make. If I really want to punch it up a notch, I’ll throw in one scoop of chocolate protein powder.
Strawberry Blueberry Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1/4 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 tablespoon organic peanut butter
- 1 cup spinach
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or unsweetened plain kefir)
This one is super similar to the mango blueberry smoothie, but the strawberries serve as the main base of the smoothie. It’s super yummy with a scoop of vanilla protein powder too!
Very Berry Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen mixed berries (raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries)
- 1 tablespoon organic peanut butter
- 1 cup spinach
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or unsweetened plain kefir)
